PASIGHAT, May 12: Legendary singer Talut Mize breathed his last on 11th May at 9.26
am due septic shock multi organ failure at “Sir Gangaram Hospital”, Delhi at the age of
65 leaving behind wife, two sons, one daughter and many grand children. He was laid to
rest at his Mirku-Daapi private residence today. A pall of gloom descends throughout
the state with the sad demise of the legendary singer. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister
Chawna Mein expressed grief and condolence over Talut’s death.
Born on 12th November, 1957, Talut was son of Late Tatan Mize and Oyam Mize of
Ledum village, few kilometer off Pasighat. He did early schooling upto class-3 at LP
School, Pasighat., thereafter went to Bombay (Matunga) from where he completed his
high school and returning to Pasighat completed his graduation from JN College,
Pasighat.
He was one of the prominent and pioneer singers of Arunachal Pradesh and also had
extensive credit in Adi, Galo and Mishing songs. He was conferred with State Awards in
the field of music twice by the Governors of Arunachal Pradesh among many other
honours extended by local community based organizations. Talut was known to all for
his melodious voice and reviving and popularizing local songs and for his esteemed
contributions in the field of music he was recognized as Legendary Artist of Arunachal
Pradesh by the Arunachal Guild for Cultural integration.
MLAs Kaling Moyong, Ninong Ering and Lombo Tayeng, DC Tayi Taggu and ABK
(Apex) General Secretary Okom Yosung condoled the untimely death of veteran singer
and paid their last respect. His timeless music will continue to enthrall generations to
come, they added in their messages.
