Lalremsiami Hmar (born 30 March 2000) popularly known just as 'Lalremsiami' is a Mizo Indian professional field hockey player who plays as a forward for the Indian national team. Lalremsiam qualified for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics for the Indian women's hockey team.

     The 21-year-old Mizo girl managed to win the hearts of the entire countrymen during the 2019 FIH series in Japan. Who lost his father in the run-up to the final of the series and is determined to play without coming home to fulfill india's dream of qualifying for the Olympics and defending the country's honour for the team

It may be recalled that Lalremsiam represented the country in the Under 18 event of the Asian Youth Olympic Games. Who finished the tournament with 7 balls in 5 matches. It was then that he joined the senior hockey team in 2017 and won a gold medal in the Asia Cup that year.

 He was on the field for just 31 minutes in a total of 5 matches in the 2018 Asian Championship Trophy. And that's when he managed to score two times. For which he managed to get 'U-21 rising star award

He also played a key role in India winning a silver medal in 'Buenos Aires Youth Olympics' that year. That was the first in that game history. He managed a total of 9 balls in that match. Which scored against Austria, Uruguay and Vanuatu

It may be recalled that India has selected a total of 16 hockey teams to participate in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Eight of them including Lalremsiami will go to the Olympics for the first time.

India's women's hockey team will participate in the Olympics for the third time this time. The Indian women's hockey team had earlier participated in the 1980 and 2016 Olympics. The Indian team created a history at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Sports minister Robert Romavia Royte along with Mizoram chief minister Zoram Thanga wished Lalremsiami a good luck in qualifying for the Olympics
