PASIGHAT, Jan 31: -- 100 days 100 districts campaign “Aashwasan” to break the chain of the spread of Covid and TB infection was launched by local MLA Kaling Moyong in East Siang in presence of District Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, DMO Dr. Radesh Tattan, Jt. Director Health Services Dr. T.Tali, District TB officer Dr. T. Siram, Zonal Lead Of Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland Dr. Vivek Pratap Singh, Divisional Program Manager AP. Deidensa Basumatary, District Community Lead East Siang Raizul Rahman and all the other staff here today in the District TB Office .
Piramal Swasthya Management and Research institute through its Tribal Health collaborative Program called Anamaya will conduct an awareness campaign regarding COVID through mobile vehicles in 5-Health Tribal blocks i.e., at Pasighat, Ruksin, Mebo, Yagrung and Bilat of East Siang District. The Campaign ‘s aim is to address the Misconceptions regarding COVID and TB infection and address the vaccine hesitancy among the people along with the adoption of COVID appropriate behaviour by the general public.
Along with this, sputum collection and testing will be done based on symptoms through an active case finding of potential TB patients at the village level and TB treatment will be provided free of cost by the government upon confirmation of the disease. This will help in preventing the spread of infectious disease like TB. Under this campaign people will not need to go to the government health centres for testing, rather the sputum of presumptive cases will be collected from home and transported to the nearest diagnostic centre for testing.
Keeping in view the aspect of Community participation, Panchayat Members, Community Influencers, community leaders Leader and Traditional healers will also be involved during the campaign to make their village TB free and educate people about TB disease and its prevention.
The project supported by USAID will be implemented by the Primal Swasthya Management and Research Institute under Anamaya program with the help of the concerned department in the district.
